Visit the Castle of Agia Mavra

The Castle of Agia Mavra was built in the 1300s and is an interesting place to visit. You can often see archaeologists digging there, which makes it even more exciting. The old castle shows what life was like in the past, and you can still see new things being discovered. The Agia Mavra Church is also on the same site. It costs €4 to get in. The site is closed on Tuesdays and closes at 3:00 PM every other day.

At the southern tip of the island, there's a narrow, well-kept road that takes you straight to Cape Lefkada. If you want to enjoy a beautiful drive, this is a great spot. As you go along the road, you'll see amazing views of the sea and nearby islands. When you get there, you'll find tall white cliffs that drop over 60 meters down to the water. The area is important in history and myths, and the lighthouse was built in 1890. Cape Lefkada is also a great place to watch one of the famous Greek sunsets.

A few miles from Lefkada Town, in the northwest part of the island at Frini, there's a great monastery you can visit. The Monastery of Panagia Faneromeni sits on a mountain and is one of the most important religious places on the island. The original building was destroyed by fire in the 1800s, but it has been rebuilt. Now it has lovely gardens, a library, and a museum with old Byzantine items, books, and religious texts. Inside, there's a lot to see, and outside, you can enjoy amazing views of the town and the sea. There is a dress code—visitors need to wear modest clothes. If you aren't dressed properly, they have cover-ups you can borrow.
